For the first rubric of ‘Working at Scepter’ we spoke with Adam. Adam is working already more than a year as operator for our client Amixo in Tilburg. Amixo is a co-maker and (re)packer of food ingredients for national and international brand owners.
Hi Adam, first of all thank you for your time and participation of this interview. You are working now for over a year in Scepter as well as in Amixo in Tilburg. How did you get in touch with Scepter Arbeidsbemiddeling & Advies B.V.? With who did you get in touch first?
I heard about Scepter from my friend Sebastian. That’s how I contacted Scepter through the company’s official number. The first person I got in touch with was Kasia Dolne. I had a conversation with Kasia about what kind of jobs Scepter had available and at that moment there was a job available in Tilburg at Amixo. Kasia explained me step by step what was the function about in Amixo and told me more about the company. I decided to give it a chance and agreed everything with her.
Is this your first time in The Netherlands? How did everything go with arriving at the location, getting BSN, etc.?
Via Scepter, I am working for the first time in The Netherlands. I came together with my friend Sebastian. Before our arrival, my coordinator Jop, gave me the address of the location and we agreed to meet each other there. When we arrived in The Netherlands on Saturday morning, Jop was there to catch us up and guide us into the location. He showed us our room and we agreed everything regarding our first working day on Monday. When we arrived at Amixo, for our first day, Kasia Dolné was there to catch us up and give us a tour through the company so that we knew where we could find everything. After a few days we also had an appointment in Nijmegen to get our BSN-number, everything went very smoothly.
You are working at Amixo, what do you like about the work and about the company in general?
Indeed, I am working at the family company Amixo in Tilburg. Everyone who is working at the company is very friendly and I really like it to work in this atmosphere. What I like the most is the communication on the work floor, nobody will ever scream to me or something like that. Everyone is very respectful and when there are any problems, they get solved nice and politely. As an operator I am responsible for the production in my cell. We are working in this cell with 3 or 4 persons. As an operator I am making sure, everything runs smoothly, I am helping my colleagues, explain things, give them tips and take care or other things in the cell. I am controlling machines, fill out the paperwork and rapport to my team leader about the current situation or when there are any problems.
How is the cooperation with your colleagues in work? Are they helpful and nice?
When I need help, there is always someone to help me. When it is not the team leader or the manager, it is someone else. Within Amixo we help each other as colleagues a lot as we are really a team that likes to cooperator with each other.
As you are living in one of our locations, where are you living and what do you think about this place and the co-inhabitants?
I am living in Tilburg together with other employees who are working in Amixo. Till now, I haven’t had any problems with other residents, everyone finds their way and their spot here. A big plus is that everyone here, has their own room so that we can take good rest. In the weekends or when we are not in work, we are often together in the living room to share dinner, play games or drink something together.
How is the cooperation with Scepter going in terms of contact with the coordinator, payments, help with all kind of questions, etc.?
The contact with the coordinators of Scepter is very nice, I can always count on one of them if I have any question or a problem. My salary is always on time, I never had any problems with that.
Would you recommend Scepter to other people that might consider a future within Scepter Arbeidsbemiddeling & Advies B.V?
I am working now for over a year in Scepter and always when one of my friends or someone who I know is considering a career in The Netherlands, I am recommending them Scepter. The company is very flexible and I am sure that for everyone they can find a suitable job when there is a possibility.
