Increase in legal minimum wage
Increase in legal minimum wage from 1 July 2024
After the increase in the legal minimum wage on 1 Januria 2024 from €11.51 to €13.27 (based on a 40-hour working week), on 1 July 2024, there will be another increase in the legal minimum wage based on the six-monthly indexation.
This means that as of 1 July 2024, the legal minimum wage will rise from €13.27 to €13.68 per hour, an increase of 3.1 per cent. The additional 1.2 per cent increase voted for by the Lower House in April will not go ahead. In the Senate, it turned out that there was no majority for this.
The next indexation is scheduled for 1 January 2025. However, it is not yet known by what percentage the legal minimum wage will rise then. This depends, among other things, on data to be published by the CPB only in September.
